7 reviews for Amprobe ST-102B Receptacle Tester with GFCI

  1. hcl1

    Everyday Use

I keep this tool in my pocket everyday. It fits nicely in my pocket no sharp edges when i am bending and moving around. It works as intended. Which they would design an all in one solution with a non contact voltage detector or maybe a voltage beeper when plugged in so you can find which breaker goes to a circuit.

✔ Yes, I recommend this product.

  2. mschuste

Excellent tool and it fits into a pocket

This is an excellent tool for testing recepticles wired to the slave side of a GFCI recepticle. The LEDs are essential for troubleshooting a “dead recpticle”

✔ Yes, I recommend this product.

  3. dirtybug

    simple and reliable

Pocket sized and reliable. great for testing gfci outlets and tamper proof outlets.

  4. PHXinspect

2 of 3 failed within a month of use.

I’m a Home Inspector and have owned 3 Amprobe (ST-102B) GFCI testers. The first one lasted about 7 months and my last two lasted less than a month each. Serial numbers of the last two were #160304682 & #160304358. If you intend to use them often do NOT purchase, they are a waste of money.

✘ No, I do not recommend this product

  5. Amprobe

We’re sorry to hear you’ve had a negative experience with our Receptacle Tester. This is the first time we’ve heard of this issue.

Your feedback has been received by our engineers, who may have some specific questions for you.

We will reach out directly to address your concerns. Thank you for your feedback and for being an Amprobe customer.

  6. TRHI

    unreliable

I am an inspector and use my tester every day, I like the size and shape of the tester and the easy read fault, however the tester malfunctions and the GFCI tester reads every outlet with an open ground – in the last year (a year is being generous.) I have gone through 5 testers – yes 5 testers. I like most of Amprobe products but the GFCI tester does not make the grade

✘ No, I do not recommend this product

  7. Noahthor

Performs well in a small form factor

This is my favorite gfci receptacle tester because of its ergonomics and the ability to fit perfectly in one of my pouches little **almost useless** pockets. Cheers to another great amprobe product!

✔ Yes, I recommend this product.

  8. Koltzfan31
