Full size performance , compact multimeter at a compact price
I purchased this meter for use at both home & on the job. Price typically indicates a certain level of quality but in this case don’t let the low cost fool you, the quality of this multimeter rivals competitors models that cost 2 & 3 times as much, The compact size is great for using in confined spaces but not so small to make the display difficult to read. The red backlight is awesome for obtaining readings where there is low light or even complete darkness. I find the auto range feature to be very quick to respond when unsure of the range setting and the audible continuity feature makes working in confined areas like under dashboards easier. If your considering a compact full featured multimeter I’d recommend this meter to anyone in need of a professional compact multimeter.

Excellent Multimeter
I am not a full-time electrician. I mainly do my own electrical work at home, and sometimes help friends and family with electrical work. I did not want to spend a lot of money on a multimeter. This was the perfect choice for what I needed it for.

Great Accuracy For A Small Price!
The Amprobe AM-220 is great for the average do-it yourself-er and anyone who needs to measure batteries, or simple electrical trouble shooting. Display is very large and easy to read, size is compact and very accurate. It is low cost and even has a audible continuity tester. I recommend it with no reservations.

I install home security systems and use multimeters regularly. When mine broke, I bought this one because of the price and I have not been disappointed. You can easily spend double what you would pay for this one and get the same quality. I would highly recommend this multimeter.

great for the small jobs around my shop.
This meter is great. Easy to use and easy to read. I use it from electronics to any automotive job i may be working on. Its very durable with two teenagers and friends working on sterio systems and other toys, it has held up to the test. One of the things i like best is the battery life, it just keeps going. For daily use it cant be beat.

Simple, fast and durable.
Simple to use, fast update for auto-ranging and readings and durable. Also, with attached rare earth magnets on back made it real easy to use in hands-free applications when working on panels and up in ceilings. Probe leads don’t have problems that other meters do with broken internal connections from sockets to board. After two years the meter finally went belly-up, for no apparent reason, and started to glitch out with bad readings, wrong ranges, and lock-up. Wasn’t from the magnets, too long in use. Suspect it was from the 440 VAC that I got to close to.

Great Multimeter for DIY and Pros.
I bought the AM-220 because I needed an inexpensive multimeter that would measure capacitance. My A/C stopped working and I needed to check the capcitor on the compressor. I ran to Fry’s and found this was the only multimeter they had with a capacitance function that wasn’t over $100. I bought it and was easily able to test my capacitor. This multimeter is very easy to use. I have used it many times since for other repairs around the house.
