Looks nice, is lacking in performance
I used this unit on a site with multiple units and leaks. I found large leaks with no issue (as did soap), however, once I needed to pinpoint the leak the recalibration was inconsistent. Also, once I went to the next unit to search for leaks … the unit did not want to find them … in this case the unit needed to find R410A vs. 22. The original leak was R-22 … it appeared the unit would not rediscover or aero itself. It all started well it just did not pan out for me.

THE BEST TOOL FOR THE JOB!
IN OVER THE 25 YEARS OF BUSINESS I HAVE COME ACROSS UNITS THAT I SUSPECTED HAD REFRIGERANT LEAKS BUT THE LEAKS WERE TOO SMALL TO FIND. WITH THE AMPROBE RLD-1 REFRIGERANT LEAK DETECTOR I CAN TAKE THE GUESS WORK OUT OF THE JOB OF FINDING AND REPAIRING A REFRIGERANT LEAK. THE TOOL ITSELF IS SMALL AND FITS IN THE TOOL BAG AS WELL AS TOUGH CONSTRUCTED FOR LONG USE AND ACCURANT RELIABILITY. I RECOMMEND THAT IF YOU ARE IN THE HVAC BUSINESS THIS IS A MUST HAVE FOR EVERY TOOL BAG!

does very well even if used in high refrigerant concentration areas. I have used several brands of detectors this is one of my favorites.
