6 reviews for Amprobe IR-450 Infrared Pocket Thermometer

  1. buzmig

    pocket size

great idea , would love to get my hands on one. great for hvac service

✔ Yes, I recommend this product.

  2. medvic

way off more than 20 degrees off

Although the product description touts it as an HVAC-R tool, it is too inaccurate. Checked it against several Fluke digital thermometers in the HRA lab where I teach and it is way off.

✘ No, I do not recommend this product

  3. Amprobe

We are sorry you experienced issues with this unit. The specifications for this product are -22°F to 212°F, ±4°F best accuracy. 4. Choclair

Small size a plus, buttons frustrating

As a HVAC technician I’ve carried this product around in my jacket pocket for about a year. Using it regularly to check temperatures on diffusers and hanging heaters in manufacturing plants.

Pro’s: Great size, much less cumbersome then typical pistol style IR guns. The LED light is bright enough to get you out of a pinch, but probably won’t replace your day to day flashlight.

Con’s: The buttons are difficult to push/hold, not the most durable plastics used.

While the accuracy isn’t great (8:1 ratio) it achieves its goal of being an ultra portable IR thermometer.

✔ Yes, I recommend this product.

  5. Juicy24

    Amazing tool

All around a great tool used many times, don’t leave without it. Would recommend to anyone looking for a compact temp reader. Could use a more stronger plastic material.

✔ Yes, I recommend this product.

  6. Bbatman

The best IR thermometer I’ve every owned

I’ve owned almost every brand o IR thermometer.
This one for the money is the best.
It also uses common sized batteries.
You could spend 10 times for a better one but only be a little more accurate.

✔ Yes, I recommend this product.

  7. Steven

I could give a five star rating if the product description
indicated clearly whether this item could be used
for human body temperature measurement or not.
Given the current health situation, I think putting
the information out there would be great,
    especially for the non-pro.
